Off-Duty Officer Shoots, Wounds Man in Hyattsville

An off-duty D.C. police officer shot and critically wounded a man who authorities said was "tampering with the officer's personal vehicle" early Sunday in Hyattsville. The shooting occurred about 5:30 a.m. in the 3600 block of Nicholson Street. Hyattsville and D.C. police said the man was expected to live. No one was arrested or charged, according to police.
