Metro officials on Monday identified the man who was struck and killed by a Red Line train at the Gallery Place station Sunday morning as Joshua Fueston, 19, of Bellingham, Wa.

Based on eyewitness accounts and footage from security cameras, the agency's preliminary investigation determined that Fueston intentionally placed himself in the path of a six-car train headed toward Shady Grove. Sunday's incident was the third apparent suicide since the June 22 Red Line crash that killed nine and injured 80.
