Riders on the X1, X2 and X3 Metrobus routes can suggest ways to improve bus service along the busy Benning Road-H Street corridor in public meetings Sept. 22 and 24, Metro officials said Tuesday.
The meetings are part of a study being conducted by Metro and the District Department of Transportation about how to improve service on Metrobus's fourth-busiest line, which carries an average of 13,600 weekday passengers. The study is expected to be completed this fall, and recommended improvements are scheduled to be carried out early next year, according to the study's Web site.
The Sept. 22 hearing will be held at Sherwood Recreation Center, 640 10th St. NE. The Sept. 24 hearing will be at the Marshall Heights Community Development Organization, 3939 Benning Rd. NE. Both will begin at 6:30 p.m. with an open house, followed by a presentation and public input from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
