I'm sorry.
Really, really sorry.
I apologize for anything I may have said, written or tweeted that offended anyone. You know who you are.
And I'm not just going to express my regrets here. Nah. That would be taking the easy way out.
I plan to apologize on the House floor.
And with Leno.
And on all five Sunday shows.
And on my Facebook page.
In fact, I think nothing less than a full apology tour, complete with major-market radio hits, will suffice. Maybe even get weepy with Oprah.
Here's how I view it: If I remain silent, then most people will not hear about the terrible, horrible, no-good things I have said, written and tweeted.
And that means they will not hear about me.
But if I come clean and prostrate myself, they'll undoubtedly be impressed by my sincerity. Let's face it: America loves to forgive. And I could use some of that.
