Friends and I are headed to San Juan, Puerto Rico, in November for four days. Any suggestions for things we shouldn't miss? I'm hoping to split our days between sightseeing (mornings) and the beach/pool (afternoons). Any thoughts on how to make the most of our limited time there?

It all depends on where you're staying. If you're based in Old San Juan, you'll be steps away from world-class shopping, museums, historical sites, galleries and restaurants. The best beaches, however, are at least 20 minutes by cab in Condado, Isla Verde and Ocean Park, so plan accordingly. In town, don't miss historic El Morro and the fabulous Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico in the up-and-coming Santurce neighborhood (check out the market, too). And try to fit in a visit to El Yunque, about an hour south of San Juan. It's the only tropical rain forest in the U.S. Forest Service system.
