Elaina Loveland, 31, is an editor. Joe Fratarcangeli, 36, is a lawyer. Loveland recently moved from Arlington to join Fratarcangeli in Orlando.

LOCATION: Three Saints Orthodox Church, Ansonia, Conn.; Tashua Knolls Golf Club, Trumbull, Conn.

How they met: Elaina was working on her computer at an Arlington Starbucks when Joe introduced himself in January 2007. They exchanged e-mail addresses, and he asked her to send him a message noting her availability for dinner. She did, but Joe never received her e-mail. When she didn't hear from Joe, Elaina initially wrote him off. But then Joe decided to give it one last-ditch effort -- he e-mailed just one word: "Dinner?" She accepted. (And they cleared up the e-mail misunderstanding.)

The hardest thing they've had to do: About a year and a half into their relationship, Joe took a job transfer to Orlando, and they decided to continue their relationship long distance.

The proposal: On the second anniversary of their first date, Joe proposed to Elaina in front of the reflecting pool at the Lincoln Memorial. They then had dinner at U Street's Tabaq Bistro (the scene of that first date) and went dancing.

The wedding: The long-distance couple coordinated their Connecticut wedding from their respective homes in Arlington and Orlando in four months. Because Elaina is half-Russian, they planned a Russian Orthodox wedding, and followed up with a reception honoring Joe's Italian and Lebanese heritage. Adding to the international flair: Guests hailed from around the world, including China, Eritrea, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Pakistan, Poland and South Africa.
