A Camp Springs man was killed early Tuesday after his van veered off Enterprise Road in Bowie and crashed into a wooded area, police said.

Jarvis Eugene Baldwin, 32, was traveling south in the 4200 block of Enterprise Road shortly after 3 a.m. when he lost control of his 1999 Pontiac Montana, police said. The van crashed into a wooded area, where Baldwin was ejected and the vehicle caught fire, police said.

Speed was believed to be a factor in the crash, according to police.

Emergency responders notified of the incident by a passerby who reported hearing a loud crash and then saw the van engulfed in flames, police said.
