Federal prosecutors say a Falls Church woman has been sentenced to more than three years in prison for defrauding immigration applicants.

Fifty-nine-year-old Shahrzad Eram Soleimanlou, who was sentenced last week, will also be required to pay $1 million in restitution.

Prosecutors say Soleimanlou, who pleaded guilty to mail and wire fraud in May, told immigration applicants that money was needed to set up a bond or account to show financial stability or to pay taxes, penalties or fees. Authorities say she converted the money to her personal use.
