Regarding the Sept. 20 story "A Lifeline for Victims of Violence Needs One of Its Own," about WEAVE, the nonprofit organization that is shutting down because it lost its funding from the D.C. government:

The House of Ruth would like to assure the community that we are prepared to provide counseling to all the women currently linked to WEAVE (Women Empowered Against Violence).

House of Ruth's Domestic Violence Support Center has provided free counseling to hundreds of women every year since 1997. Our counselors stand ready to assist any woman at WEAVE's center who wants to continue her counseling or who has been waiting for counseling.
