Tim Tebow Out of Hospital After Concussion

Tim Tebow, quarterback of top-ranked Florida, was released Sunday morning from a hospital in Lexington, Ky., roughly 12 hours after suffering a concussion during the third quarter of the Gators win over Kentucky. Florida Coach Urban Meyer spent the night in the hospital with Tebow and told reporters his quarterback was "doing fine."

Florida has a bye this week before playing at No. 4 Louisiana State on Oct. 10. Tebow's status for the game against the Tigers will not crystallize until later in the week. . . .

Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin will miss the rest of the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, the school announced Sunday. . . .

Virginia Tech quarterback Tyrod Taylor chipped his front tooth on a quarterback sneak during the fourth quarter of Saturday's win over Miami. Taylor received treatment immediately following the game and saw a dentist on Sunday, according to the team. . . .

Western Illinois Coach Don Patterson has resigned because of health concerns stemming from his battle with tonsillar cancer. Assistant head coach Mark Hendrickson was named interim coach.
