New DVDs you can watch this weekend:
MARQUEE NAMES
-- Away We Go (R) Devoted couple Burt and Verona (John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph) are about to have a baby but have yet to put down roots in this appealing comedy-drama. Post critic Ann Hornaday called it a "picaresque ode to the young and ambivalent." Extras include behind-the-scenes footage and commentary by director Sam Mendes.
-- The Girlfriend Experience (R) This smaller-scale movie from Steven Soderbergh tracks several days in the life of a high-priced call girl (porn star Sasha Grey). It succeeds on some levels, said The Post's Jan Stuart, but will probably exasperate fans of the director's more mainstream efforts ("Ocean's Eleven," "Traffic"). Extras include commentary by Soderbergh and Grey. Also on Blu-ray.
-- Management (R) Steve Zhan plays an aimless loser to Jennifer Aniston's attractive sales rep in what Post critic Michael O'Sullivan called a "delightfully screwball romantic comedy." Extras include deleted scenes and a gag reel. Also on Blu-ray.
-- Monsters vs. Aliens (PG) In this animated spoof of 1950s creature features, Reese Witherspoon is the voice of Susan, who mutates into a hugely tall version of herself. It's dazzling and fun, Hornaday said, but missing a good story. Extras include deleted scenes and an animation video jukebox. Also on Blu-ray.
-- Shrink (R) Kevin Spacey is strong as a Hollywood psychiatrist with plenty of problems of his own, but according to The Post's Philip Kennicott, his performance can't save this uneven comedy. Extras include deleted scenes and a Jackson Browne music video.
OTHERS OF NOTE
-- Filth and Wisdom (Unrated) Madonna hasn't made much of an impression as an actress, and if this movie, her directorial debut, is any indication, she doesn't have much of a future behind the camera either. It's a comedy about three mismatched Londoners who share an apartment. The Post's Neely Tucker was unequivocal in his assessment, saying, "The only thing this movie should lead you to is the nearest exit."
-- In a Dream (Unrated) This award-winning documentary chronicles the personal life and work of artist Isaiah Zagar, who blanketed his South Philadelphia neighborhood with mosaic murals. It's directed by his son Jeremiah Zagar.
