Police have identified the man fatally shot Friday by Charles County sheriff's officers as Cornelius M. Warren, 44 of Indian Head.
Warren was one of two people inside a vehicle that police stopped about 3:25 p.m. in the Pisgah area, authorities said. The officers found marijuana in the car, and one of the men tried to drive off, police said. A struggle ensued and two officers fired at Warren, police said. Police said one of the men reached for one of the officer's guns.
