A 19-year-old Herndon area woman was abducted and sexually assaulted Monday near the Herndon-Monroe park-and-ride lot, Fairfax County police said.

The woman was with a man she knew as an acquaintance, according to police. He convinced her to walk into some nearby woods, according to police, and sexually assaulted her. He then fled, police said, and the woman called for the police.

The incident took place around 4 p.m., police said.

The woman's physical injuries were described as minor.

The suspect was described as a black male in his 20s wearing a tan shirt, blue jeans and a camouflage hat. He was riding a silver bicycle, police said.
