Three Fairfax County employees who worked at two waste disposal sites were arrested Monday and charged with pocketing cash that residents were paying for trash removal.

Police believe the men stole $12,000 in payments that came into the I-66 transfer station in Fairfax and the I-95 landfill complex in Lorton.

The Fairfax County Division of Solid Waste Disposal and Resource Recovery accepts trash, recycled, materials, brush and other unwanted items. The fee depends on the type of material and its weight.

Charged with felony embezzlement were: Gurinder Singh, 62, of the 4400 block of Fallen Oak Drive in Chantilly; Bir Bhogal, 47, of the 1200 block of Cuzco Court in Herndon; and Segundo Ramon Beltran, 52, of the 200 block of Whitsons Run Drive in Stafford.
