The benign growth in LeBron James's jaw made for a few nervous days earlier this year for the Cleveland Cavaliers' superstar.
James said on Monday he had to wait for biopsy results in January after doctors at the Cleveland Clinic found a growth in the right side of his jaw. James, whose cancer concerns were first reported by the Plain Dealer, said he trusted his doctors when they told him they didn't believe the growth was malignant.
"It wasn't that much of a concern," James said. "But when it can be cancerous, anything that can be a health hazard should be a concern. But the doctors gave me assurances that they didn't think it was and I listened to the professionals."
James had surgery to remove it in June.
Love surgery scheduled
Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love has been scheduled to have surgery on his broken left hand on Tuesday.
The second-year player suffered the injury on a rebound last Friday in a preseason game at Chicago. He's expected to be out at least six weeks.
Nets unique ticket plan
For $25,000, you can watch the New Jersey Nets from courtside -- and have a player stop by your son's birthday party. It's called "Your Ticket to a Player."
For $25,000, the Nets are offering four courtside tickets for 10 games, parking, access to a private lounge at the Izod Center with free food and beverages and something more -- a one-hour appearance by a Nets player of your choice at your home, office, school or party.
