GAMES TO WATCH
West Springfield at W.T. Woodson, 7:30
W.T. Woodson (6-1) enters on a four-game winning streak, tied for the longest in the Northern Region, and sits atop the region's Division 6 power point ratings. The Cavaliers have allowed only 34 points during that four-game run and last week got a season-high 132 rushing yards from sophomore Jonathan Stokes in a 20-6 win at T.C. Williams. Four games for West Springfield (4-3) have been determined by three points or less. Spartans senior John McConnell has made 7 of 8 field goals, with a long of 45 yards.
Chantilly at Westfield, 7:30
With wins over Oakton and Robinson the past two weeks, Westfield (3-4) is on a roll after a slow start that included three losses by three points or less. If the season ended today, Westfield would not be in the Division 6 Northern Region playoffs based on power points, so the Bulldogs need a win to nudge into the top eight. Chantilly (4-3) has the same power rating as Oakton and West Springfield in the bottom half of likely postseason qualifiers, so the Chargers need to keep pace. Chantilly beat the Bulldogs in the playoffs in 2006 and 2008.
