Regarding the Oct. 19 Style article "Worldwide Ebb":

Aha! I predicted this turn of events. I'm 57, and, after much foot-dragging, I finally succumbed to opening a Facebook account the other day. I have been warning all of my younger "social networking" friends that it will be only a matter of time before the "next best thing" comes along to replace it. And now this article substantiates my prediction.

I herewith offer my suggestion for the next innovation in social communications: Western Union telegrams. Back to the future!
