A man was shot in the head and critically wounded Friday night in the 1200 block of Crittenden Street NW, D.C. police said.

Boys injured in fleeing fire
Two teenage boys were taken to hospitals after jumping from a third-floor window to flee a fire Friday in an apartment house in the 100 block of P Street SW in the District.
The boys, 13 and 16, did not appear to have serious injuries, authorities said. . The fire at Syphax Gardens was contained to the top floor of the six-unit building, fire officials said.
