An armed robber wearing a Halloween mask robbed a Loudoun County bank Monday morning, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash, authorities said.
The man, who wore a black hooded jacket over a dark-colored rubber mask with oversized white teeth, walked into the BB&T Bank on Davenport Street in Sterling just after 9 a.m., according to Loudoun County sheriff's officials. He left a walking cane at the door.
The robber, armed with a gun, demanded cash, sheriff's spokesman Kraig Troxell said. He said there were at least two customers in the bank at the time.
The man fled on foot.
Anyone who spotted anyone suspicious in the area before the robbery, or has information about the man's identity, is asked to call investigators at 703-777-0475.
