The Kansas City Chiefs announced Tuesday that they've barred running back Larry Johnson from participating in all team-related activities while they and the NFL investigate comments attributed to him in recent days.
The team issued a written statement that said: "The Kansas City Chiefs and the National Football League are continuing to investigate the alleged comments made by Larry Johnson. Until that review is complete, the Chiefs have instructed Larry to refrain from practicing with the Chiefs or participating in other team activities. A decision regarding Larry's status will be made once the investigation has concluded."
According to the Kansas City Star, Johnson used a slur referring to sexual orientation Monday when telling reporters that he would not speak to them until Thursday. Johnson used a similar slur in a posting on Twitter following the Chiefs' loss to the San Diego Chargers on Sunday, the Star reported.
Falcons add Stecker
Atlanta announced that they'd signed running back Aaron Stecker.
Stecker formerly played for the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Falcons placed safety William Moore on the season-ending injured reserve list.
