A Hyattsville man was killed Wednesday after he lost control of his car on a wet roadway and crashed into three parked vehicles, police said.

Eswin Lima, 21, was traveling west on East West Highway near 10th Avenue in the Hyattsville area when he lost control of his 2007 Honda Civic, police said. The car slid into three other vehicles that were parked and unoccupied, causing significant damage to the Civic's door and trapping Lima inside.

Emergency responders extricated Lima from the car and took him to a nearby hospital, where he died a short time later. Police do not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, which occurred just before 10 a.m.
