D.C. Police Chief Cathy L. Lanier has used her emergency powers to close a popular Northeast bar after a fight broke out there Tuesday evening.
Lanier signed an emergency order on Wednesday that closed the H Street Martini Lounge, in the 1200 block of H Street NE. Two men at the bar got into an altercation, and one of them had stab injuries, police said.
The lounge, will be closed for at least 96 hours, Lanier said. It will face a hearing to be held by the city's alcohol licensing agency.
The lounge is owned by Clifton Humphries, a D.C. firefighter. He could not be immediately reached for comment.
