Two fatal shooting in NE D.C. being investigated

Police are investigating two fatal shootings that took place early Friday morning in Northeast D.C.

Police arrived at the 1100 block of 48th Street NE at about 12:30 a.m. to discover a man lying in an alley who had been shot several times, according to Gwendolyn Crump, a police spokeswoman.

Police identified the man as Deuante Ray, 20, of the 1100 block of 45th St NE. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second shooting that took place a few hours later at 46th St and Hunt Place NE killed a 24-year-old Capitol Heights man.

D.C. police identified the victim as Robert Aren Eagleman Jr., of the 1400 block of Early Oaks Lane. He was killed at around 4:30 a.m.
