A man was stabbed to death in the District Saturday, police said.

At about 8:30 p.m., officers were called to the intersection of First Street and Halley Place SE to investigate the report of a "man down," authorities said. When they arrived, they found an adult male who had been stabbed was lying in the street, authorities said.

The man, who police have not identified because his family has yet to be notified of his death, was pronounced dead at the scene. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.
