Arlington County police have charged a 21-year-old woman in the death of an 81-year-old man who was killed while walking his dog last month, police said.

Oneyda Margarita Jimenez Boquin, 21, of Alexandria has been charged with involuntary manslaughter. She was learning to drive Oct. 10 when she drove over an embankment and struck Marco Amoni, police said.

Amoni, who had a home in the area to be near his grandchildren, was hit while walking in the 2800 block of South Fort Scott Drive. Amoni was a self-made caterer, small-business owner and entrepreneur who had previously lived in New York.

Police ask that anyone who has information about the accident call Detective Melinda Woods at 703-228-4208.
