The Big East received seven bids to the NCAA tournament last season, with a record three teams receiving No. 1 seeds. But many of those teams lost a lot of talent from last season. A look at where those teams stand, along with Georgetown, which is trying to get back into the tournament after a down year.
Villanova
2009: Seeded third, lost in Final Four.
Key losses: F Dante Cunningham (16.1 ppg, 7.5 rpg); G-F Dwayne Anderson (9.0 ppg, 6.2 ppg).
Returning stars: G Scottie Reynolds (15.2 ppg, 3.4 apg); G Corey Fisher (10.8 ppg).
Please welcome: F-C Mouphtaou Yarou (20 ppg, 12 rpg, 3 bpg at Montrose Christian last season).
Pittsburgh
2009: Seeded first, lost in East Region final.
Key losses: F Sam Young (19.2 ppg, 6.3 rpg); G Levance Fields (10.7 ppg, 7.5 apg); F DeJuan Blair (15.7 ppg, 12.3 rpg).
Returning stars: G Jermaine Dixon (8.4 ppg, 2.6 rpg).
