Maryland Department of Transportation officials will join Montgomery County officials next week to discuss a six-year plan for capital spending on transportation that will be presented to the legislature in January.

Transportation Secretary Beverley K. Swaim-Staley and State Highway Administrator Neil J. Pedersen will lead a delegation of state officials to meet with county officials and members of the public. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 12 in the County Council's office, 100 Maryland Ave., Rockville.

Each fall, the Transportation Department presents its draft, six-year capital program to every county and Baltimore City for review and comment. Afterward, a final report is prepared for presentation to the General Assembly in January.
