Former Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Colts and New York Giants general manager Ernie Accorsi told the Cleveland Plain Dealer that he is "happily retired" and has not been in contact with the Browns about a job. The team announced Tuesday that general manager George Kokinis is no longer with the organization.

"I am not taking any GM job anywhere. Period," Accorsi told the Plain Dealer. "I am not taking any full-time job. I serve the league office as a consultant. I have consulted in various areas with four NFL clubs the past two years."

Browns owner Randy Lerner indicated Sunday that he had no immediate plans to fire Coach Eric Mangini, despite a 1-7 record.

Seahawks release James

Seattle released running back Edgerrin James, the Seahawks announced.

James ran for 125 yards on 46 carries in seven games for Seattle this season.

He has rushed for 12,246 yards in 11 NFL seasons for the Indianapolis Colts, Arizona Cardinals and Seahawks.

Chiefs claim Chambers

The Kansas City Chiefs were awarded wide receiver Chris Chambers via a waiver claim, the club announced.

Chambers had been waived by the San Diego Chargers.
