-- An Associated Press item in the Local Digest on the Nov. 3 Washington Business page incorrectly described CapitalSource's third-quarter loss as a widening from a loss a year earlier. Although the commercial lender lost money in this year's third quarter, it recorded a profit of $13.7 million (5 cents a share) in the year-ago quarter.
-- An Oct. 28 A-section article about hiring practices at the United Nations misstated the year in which Secretary General Ban Ki-moon's daughter, Hyun Hee-ban, applied for a U.N. job. She applied in March 2002, not March 2003.
-- In some editions, an Oct. 28 A-section article about the indictment of Robert J. Cabelly incorrectly said that each of the charges against him is punishable by up to 20 years in prison. The Washington lobbyist is charged with violating U.S. economic sanctions against Sudan's government, acting as an unregistered agent of a foreign power, money laundering, passport fraud and making false statements, but only the sanctions-related charges carry that possible term.
