Charles County Parks and Recreation Division is seeking volunteers to serve as trail support team members on the Indian Head Rail Trail. Monitor trail activities, conduct safety patrols and assist trail users. Flexible schedule. Must be 18 or older. Bicyclists and walkers are encouraged to apply. 301-932-3470.

Trico Corp. needs volunteers in its Lexington Park and Waldorf offices. Donated art supplies are also needed. Trico is an outpatient mental health and psychiatric rehabilitation clinic that provides care regardless of a client's ability to pay. Joe Ashworth, 301-862-4966.

St. Mary's County Meals on Wheels needs drivers and substitutes to deliver meals to homebound people once a week. Marilyn, 301-475-4200, Ext. 1060.

St. Mary's County Historical Society is looking for volunteers to help in the office, library, archives, bookstore, Old Jail Museum and gardens as well as with lectures, school programs and special events. No experience necessary. Susan Wolfe at 301-475-2467.

Center for Children, an outpatient mental health clinic for children and adults, needs mentors 21 and older for children 4-18 with a parent in prison, on probation or on parole. The center is especially seeking minority men to be mentors. The program helps children with emotional support, academics, life skills and character development. The center's supervised visitation program needs volunteers to monitor court-ordered visits between noncustodial parents and their children. A background check is conducted, and training is provided. Ann Seely at 301-753-4002, Ext. 129.

St. Mary's Animal Welfare League needs foster homes, board members and volunteers to help with socializing animals, publicity, fundraisers and adoption events. 301-373-5659.

Birthright of Prince Frederick needs volunteers to work with pregnant women at its center on Armory Road. Bari-tennette McKinley, 301-812-1683.

Three Oaks Center, a shelter for homeless men, needs volunteer monitors 8 a.m.-noon or noon-4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Volunteers are asked to commit to at least one shift a month at the Lexington Park shelter. Training is provided. Ruben Berry at 301-863-9535.

Court-Appointed Special Advocate volunteers are needed in St. Mary's and Charles counties to help provide a voice for abused or neglected juveniles in court proceedings. Calvert Memorial Hospital needs volunteers to help in many areas, including the patient information desk, gift shop, emergency department, urgent-care centers and patient shuttle. Susan Stevens, 410-414-4523.
