These food establishments were closed because of health code violations. The list, compiled from health department reports, reflects actions taken by the departments.

Closed Sept. 21 for operating without a permit. Reopened the same day.

Midnight Deli

4701 Georgia Ave. NW

Closed Sept. 22 for operating without a certified food manager. Reopened Sept. 23.

Savory Cravins

401 15th St. SE

Closed Sept. 17 because of a gross unsanitary occurrence, circumstances that could have endangered public health and failure to minimize pests. Reopened Sept. 21.
