The Literacy Council of Northern Virginia needs tutors to help adults learn to speak, read and write English. A tutor is trained, matched with a student and encouraged to meet with the student weekly for 90 minutes. No teaching or foreign language skills are required. Training will be 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Nov. 7, 14 and 21 at the James Lee Community Center, 2855 Annandale Rd., Falls Church.
