The following cases were received by the Prince George's County Department of Environmental Resources Animal Management Group. Lhasa on the loose

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Capitol Heights Blvd., 100 block, Oct. 11. An animal control officer responding to a call from police picked up a 5-month-old cream-colored male Lhasa apso-poodle mix without tags or identification. The dog was reunited with his owner Oct. 14.

Husky dog at work

CLINTON, Old Alexandria Ferry Rd., 7300 block, Oct. 12. Employees at a business reported a medium-size stray dog on the property. An animal control officer picked up a 2-year-old tan neutered Siberian husky-chow mix with a blue nylon collar but no identification. The dog was not claimed, and he was adopted Oct. 23.

Dogs at school

TEMPLE HILLS, Temple Hills Rd., 5200 block, Oct. 12. A school employee reported three or four stray dogs running in a parking lot, but they were gone when an animal control officer arrived. On a second visit to the school, an officer found two dogs in the parking lot. The officer took a 2-year-old brown-and-white male mastiff with a blue nylon collar and a 3-year-old cream-colored female German shepherd mix with no collar and no identification. The owner of the dogs was located and reclaimed the dogs Oct. 17.

Allergic to cats

HYATTSVILLE, West Park Dr., 7200 block, Oct. 12. An animal control officer picked up a stray 3-month-old brown female tabby domestic shorthair from a house full of cat-allergic people. The kitten was not claimed and was transferred to a rescue group Oct. 21.

Church finds new congregant

BRANDYWINE, Cedarville Rd., 11600 block, Oct. 13. Someone reported seeing a stray dog on church property for more than a week. An animal control officer picked up a year-old black neutered Siberian husky-beagle mix with no collar or identification. The dog was not claimed and was adopted Oct. 26.

Dog gone to pasture

LANHAM, Barker Place at Patemore Street, Oct. 14. Someone reported finding a stray dog dragging a leash during the landscaping of a field. An animal control officer picked up a year-old gold male Labrador retriever with a red nylon collar but no identification. The dog and his owner were reunited Oct. 24.

Adoption event

The Prince George's County SPCA/Humane Society is sponsoring cat and dog adoptions noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 14 at Calverton PetSmart, 12020 Cherry Hill Rd., Silver Spring. The pets' foster owners will answer questions and accept adoption applications for the animals. Adoption fees are $75 for cats, $180 for dogs.
