NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Minnesota Twins have exercised the 2011 club option on right fielder Michael Cuddyer, the team said on Saturday.
The option is worth $10.5 million and part of the three-year, $24 million contract that Cuddyer signed before the 2008 season, Major League Baseball's official website (www.mlb.com) said.
Cuddyer batted .276 with 34 doubles, seven triples, 32 home runs and 94 runs batted in during 153 games with the Twins in 2009. His home run total was a career-high and team best for 2009.
