Michael Gerson ["Obama cedes the center," op-ed, Nov. 6] wrote that President Obama's health-care reform is "ideologically divisive" and that passing it would "smack of radicalism" and "reinforce polarization." His column was published the day after two moderate groups -- the American Medical Association and AARP -- endorsed the president's plan. Way to think this through, Mr. Gerson.

Insuring every American citizen and banning discrimination of patients with pre-existing conditions are not radical ideas. They are common sense.
