WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama plans to make the federal government the model employer of America's veterans.
Obama is to sign an executive order Monday evening to establish a Council on Veterans Employment and a Veterans Employment Program office within most federal agencies.
Later, the president will tackle Mideast issues in an Oval Office meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Netanyahu is in Washington to address the 2009 General Assembly of The Jewish Federations of North America.
