-- In the Nov. 12 Local Living section, the MisFits column should have said that some White House employees have pedometers, not that employees of the Office of Management and Budget received pedometers at the White House.
-- A Nov. 11 A-section article about Veterans Affairs Assistant Secretary Tammy Duckworth incorrectly reported an aspect of the incident in Iraq that led to her war injuries. Duckworth and her co-pilot successfully landed her Black Hawk helicopter before she was pulled to safety. Additionally, the article should have said that Navy Corpsman Joe Dan Worley lost one leg during combat in Iraq.
-- A Nov. 10 A-section article about the launch of a news site by Discovery Communications incorrectly said that the company blamed a rise in operating costs for its most recent quarter's decline in profits. The company cited a change in the value of stock-based compensation as the main reason for that decline. Also, early advertising on the Discovery News site includes the company's line of retail products, not its retail stores, which were closed two years ago.
-- A Nov. 7 A-section article incorrectly said that Sen. Olympia J. Snowe (R-Maine) had "signaled she will back the health-care effort" in the Senate. In fact, while she voted for a version of the legislation in the Senate Finance Committee, she has not said whether she would vote for the Senate bill, which is still being finalized.
