WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Eric Ward threw two touchdown passes and four different Richmond players had rushing scores as the Spiders routed Georgetown (D.C.) on Saturday.
Richmond (9-1, 6-1 Colonial Athletic Association) remains in a three-way tie for first place in the CAA South with Villanova and William & Mary. The Spiders host William & Mary next Saturday with at least a share of the conference title at stake.
Ben Keating's 2-yard run, Tyler Kirchoff's 1-yarder and Ward's 15-yard TD pass to Sherman Logan put Richmond ahead 21-0 in the first quarter.
After the Hoyas (0-10, 0-5) pulled within 21-10 in the second, Ward's 32-yard pass to Max Prokell put Richmond ahead 28-10 at halftime.
The Spiders pulled away on Tremayne Graham's 94-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and TD runs by John Laub and Garrett Wilkins in the second half.
