Man dies in shooting on 16th Street SE

D.C. police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday in the 2000 block of 16th Street SE, less than 24 hours after Police Chief Cathy L. Lanier kicked off the All Hands on Deck program, a weekend initiative that puts additional officers on District streets.

Police said they were called to the scene after 1 a.m. and found an unidentified man shot multiple times.

All Hands on Deck began Friday at 6 a.m. and was scheduled to end Sunday at 6 a.m.
