Man dies in shooting on 16th Street SE
D.C. police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday in the 2000 block of 16th Street SE, less than 24 hours after Police Chief Cathy L. Lanier kicked off the All Hands on Deck program, a weekend initiative that puts additional officers on District streets.
Police said they were called to the scene after 1 a.m. and found an unidentified man shot multiple times.
All Hands on Deck began Friday at 6 a.m. and was scheduled to end Sunday at 6 a.m.

3 people injured in Northeast house fire
Two D.C. firefighters suffered minor burns and one person was treated for smoke inhalation after a house caught fire Saturday in Northeast.
Firefighters were called about 3 p.m. to a house fire in the 1900 block of Kearney Street NE. About 75 firefighters battled the blaze, officials said. One of the home's occupants was hospitalized for smoke inhalation. The injured firefighters were taken to a burn center for treatment. All are expected to recover.
