An Upper Marlboro man was found dead in the compactor at a recycling facility in the Laurel area Tuesday, and police are remaining mum on why and how he got there.

An employee of Encore Recycling in the 13200 block of Virginia Manor Road found the man's body just after 6 a.m., police said. Authorities later identified him as Marcellous Lindolph Jr., 45, of the 12300 block of William Beanes Road in Upper Marlboro.

Employees outside the business Monday declined to comment. A man who answered the phone at Lindolph's phone also declined to comment.

Police said that Lindolph's body would be sent to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy to determine how he died, and that the incident is deemed a "suspicious death."
