Police: Man's body found in Wheaton

Just after midnight on Wednesday morning, a woman found an unresponsive man lying on a road in the Wheaton area, and Montgomery County police later determined the man was a victim of homicide.

This Story

He was identified as Samuel Dejesus Chacon, 34, of the 8300 block of Verona Drive in New Carrollton, police said. He was discovered in the 2500 block of Newton Street and taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Preliminary results from the medical examiner's office determined the case to be a homicide, but an autopsy is still pending, police said.
