ARLINGTON, Grant St. S., 2600 block, Oct. 31. A homeowner called animal control about a stray chicken in her yard that had been dropped by a hawk. An animal control officer netted the chicken, which did not appear to be injured, and took it to the shelter. If an owner is not found, the chicken will be transferred to an Animal Welfare League partner farm in West Virginia, where it will be kept as a pet.
