Two lanes of westbound New York Avenue will be closed overnight next week as steel girders are installed for the Ninth Street bridge over the six-lane roadway.

The two lanes will be closed from 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Dec. 1-5. Additional lanes will be closed for about 15 minutes at a time to avoid setting girders in place above moving traffic.

During the work, lanes that remain open will be shifted so that there will be two lanes in each direction.
