Prosecutors say a Maryland man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for beating a Pizza Hut employee and stealing $80.

Twenty-three-year-old Thomas Williams and an accomplice robbed a Pizza Hut in Clinton, Md., in January. Prince George's County officials say Williams hit the female employee at the cash register in the head with his gun and then grabbed cash from the register.

Police were tipped off that Williams was behind the robbery; they waited at his house and found the $80 he stole in a green laundry bag.

A jury convicted him in September.
