Hit-and-run of boy, 4
A 4-year-old boy was injured Tuesday in a hit-and-run crash in St. Mary's County, police said.
Police said he was flown to Children's Hospital in the District by a Maryland State Police helicopter. He apparently was struck just before 1:30 p.m. on Brighton Avenue in Lexington Park by a four-door 2007 Kia passenger car, which fled the scene, police said.
The car was driven by Gerald G. Keemer, 43, of Lusby, who later turned himself in to the sheriff's office, officials said. Keemer was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving with a suspended license.
