Last year's team champion at the Virginia AAA tournament, Colonial Forge, graduated seven varsity wrestlers, the most Coach Bill Swink has lost from a single team. But the Eagles get back some firepower in seniors Brett Garrison (130 pounds), Nick Emison (152) and Demetri Cox (215), all of whom have at least 65 career victories. . . . Led by senior Roman Perryman (135 or 140) and sophomore Jake Smith (112), both state finalists, Robinson has a shot to unseat Colonial Forge as the area's premier program. . . . Westfield should challenge Robinson in the Northern Region thanks to state champion Austin Fallon (189) and state qualifiers Brett Campbell (103), John Orchard Hays (130), Kyle Arnold (140) and Nick Grinups (160). . . . Forest Park also will be strong with six 2009 Cardinal District champions back, led by seniors Sheridan Stackpole (152) and Jorge Mendez (189). . . . Fauquier moves down to AA and should contend again with four AAA state placers and three other AAA state qualifiers. . . . Senior Eric Dromazos (125) of Osbourn Park is back with more than 100 career wins and should contend for a state title. . . . In Maryland, Urbana is expected to make waves again in 4A/3A, boasting nine returners, including two-time state champion and Princeton-bound senior Adam Krop (135). . . . La Plata, last year's dual meet runners up, should compete again for the 4A/3A dual title after graduating just three seniors. . . . Arundel added senior Frank Goodwin (125) and sophomore Tyler Goodwin (119), brothers who transferred from Mount St. Joseph's. Both are all-Americans and nationally ranked. . . . Defending 2A/1A champion Pat Downey (160-171) moved from Loch Raven to North County, creating what could be a daunting lineup for the Knights in the upper weights. . . . Dual meet and state champion Old Mill has back gritty state champion Ron Vaughters (145). . . . Whitman finished second at the state tournament and is the Montgomery County favorite. . . . A trio of private school transfers to Magruder -- sophomores Tyler Dykes (160) and Kamen Barnes (152) and junior Parke Overmiller (125) -- could move the Colonels up in a hurry. . . . After O'Connell snapped DeMatha's streak of 23 straight WCAC crowns in 2009, the Stags look to get back on their perch led by Pat Prada (119), an all-American and Navy commit.
