Thursday, December 10, 2009

Since taking Ladell Betts in the 2002 draft, Washington has not drafted another running back, while the rest of the league has selected 148 and every other team has picked at least one since 2007. Here is the number of running backs drafted by every team since Betts:

0 Washington

2 Green Bay, New Orleans, Seattle

3 N.Y. Giants, San Diego

4 Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Miami, Minnesota, N.Y. Jets, Oakland, San Francisco

5 Arizona, Atlanta, Buffalo, Cleveland, Dallas, Kansas City, New England, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Tampa Bay

6 Carolina, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Jacksonville, Philadelphia

7 Baltimore, Denver

8 Tennessee

Note: Washington has drafted three fullbacks -- Rock Cartwright, Nehemiah Broughton and Manuel White -- during this span.
