-- Enjoy an escape close to home with the A New Decade Has Dawned deal at Kimpton's Lorien Hotel & Spa in Alexandria. Receive two nights for $201 per room, a beverage and food credit worth $20.10, a 10 percent discount at the spa (per person) and a snack from the Dream Menu, such as cookies and milk. Valid Thursday-Sunday through January. Taxes of 12.5 percent, plus a $1 daily fee, are extra. By comparison, a room in January starts at $119 a night. -- Virgin America has reduced its West Coast fares to $39 each way ($49.60 with taxes) and cross-country routes to $99 each way ($109.60 with taxes) from Dec. 25 to Jan. 31. The sale is valid for Monday-Thursday and Saturday departures. A one-way flight from Washington to San Francisco, for instance, would be $99. Depart on Friday or Sunday for $10 to $20 more each way. Travel from Feb. 1 to June 20 for $10 more each way. Tickets must be booked by Dec. 29 and three days in advance of travel. Passengers get free WiFi on flights through Jan. 15. -- Crystal Cruises is letting kids 17 and younger cruise for free on two Crystal Symphony European voyages this summer. The offer is valid for children sailing in a third berth with two full-fare adults on Crystal's seven-day British Isles and Baltic itineraries. Fares start at $4,210 per person for the British Isles cruise and $4,375 per person for the Baltic cruise. Port security and handling charges of $270 are additional. Airfare is included in the adult bookings but must be purchased separately for children cruising free. Children 12-17 traveling in a third berth usually pay the minimum fare for that cruise regardless of the stateroom category, while those 11 and younger pay 50 percent of the fare. Crystal's Family Memories program also offers a $500 credit toward a Crystal Private Adventure if the family has booked six full fares. Families booking 10 full fares get a complimentary berth. -- The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism is offering free companion airfare on stays of at least four nights. Choose from a variety of participating hotels on Nassau/Paradise Island, Grand Bahama Island and the Out Islands. For example, a package including round-trip air from Washington (via Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), four nights at the Wyndham Nassau, a $100 food and beverage credit and airport transfers starts at $1,702 for two travelers. For only $2 more, stay at Comfort Suites on Nassau/Paradise Island and also receive access to Atlantis and daily continental breakfast. Book by March 3; travel Jan. 4-June 23.
