A 29-year-old man was found shot to death in a steaming car in Southeast Washington early Sunday morning, and police are asking for the public's help in determining what happened.

Anthony J. Perkins, of the 1800 block of T Street, SE, was found inside a car in the 2900 block of 4th Street, SE, after police responded to reports of gunfire in the area. When they arrived, steam was billowing from the car's engine compartment. Perkins was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police ask that anyone with information about the shooting call 202-727-9099 or 1-888-919-2746.
