An Obama Christmas
The Obamas feasted on the family's traditional Christmas fare, roast beef and potatoes. The day began for the first couple with a 6:40 a.m. trip to the gym. The president and first lady did not exchange gifts, but did give presents to their daughters, Malia and Sasha, as well as President Obama's sister and brother-in-law. No information on what the gifts were.
The family is on vacation in Hawaii and is expected to depart Jan. 2, Hawaii magazine reports.
More woes for Jon Gosselin
The end of the decade continues to unravel for Jon Gosselin, the reality TV dad who had a very public fallout with mom Kate. While he was in Pennsylvania celebrating Christmas with his eight kids, Gosselin's New York City apartment was burglarized and ransacked, People magazine reports.
The burglar purloined Gosselin's television, Nintendo Wii console, CD player, coffeemaker, and pots and pans. The burglar also used a butcher knife to hack away at furniture and clothes, and spear a note to Gosselin's dresser. The NYPD is investigating.
Time for marriage counseling
Actor Charlie Sheen and wife Brooke Mueller will undergo marriage counseling after a domestic tussle landed Sheen in jail Christmas morning.
After consuming alcohol during a dinner party at a friend's house in Aspen, Colo., the two started fighting and the dispute carried into the next morning.
After a 911 call, police charged Sheen with second-degree assault and criminal mischief, People magazine reports.
Sheen will also take anger management classes. Mueller had a .13 blood-alcohol level.
Actress Renée Zellweger spent Christmas with boyfriend Bradley Cooper and family at Cooper's house in Los Angeles. Zellweger and Gloria Cooper, Bradley's mother, were seen shopping together on Christmas Eve in Venice, Calif. "They were laughing and seemed to have a great time," an eyewitness told People magazine.
The two revealed the romance in August. Rumors buzzed that Cooper was dating actress Jennifer Aniston when the two were spotted together in July. Zellweger's 128-day marriage to country singer Kenny Chesney ended in divorce in 2005.
Cage suit amended
It turns out Nicolas Cage isn't being sued for fraud, as previously reported by People magazine. A real estate firm is suing Cage for much less than the reported $36.7 million, which would have included the initial loan, interest and damages.
The firm, Red Curb Investments, is suing Cage over failure to repay $3 million in loans. Rather than suing Cage for fraud, Red Curb is suing his accountant and mortgage broker for not revealing the true state of Cage's dire finances, including massive tax debt.
Ivana shut your children up
Ivana Trump was escorted off a New York-bound plane Saturday after she cursed at a passel of children running and screaming in the aisle, the Associated Press reports. The 60-year-old former wife of Donald Trump became belligerent on a Delta Airlines plane awaiting departure from Palm Beach, Fla., after flight attendants tried to calm her. Charges have not been filed.
Curves in Vogue
Anna Wintour, editor of Vogue magazine, promises to use more buxom models in upcoming issues and she's not waiting a second to prove it. The growth in girth is profound: The cover of the January 2010 issue displays curvy model Lara Stone. A size 4.
"Vogue has always been supportive of healthy models and will continue to be so in the future. And I hope that Lara's success as a model, even though her image does not fit into the existing norm, will inspire the industry to rethink its current preferences," Wintour said.
A hair-raising dispute
The nuclear fallout between model Katie Price and singer Peter Andre just infected their children's hair. In response to a Mohican cut Price gave their son, Peter Jr., Andre had his hair stylist brother lop off daughter Princess's golden locks.
Price was shocked when she saw her daughter's tonsured hair. She fumed on Twitter: "Can't believe that when I got kids back, Princess comes back with her hair all cut short. Soo out of order."
The couple, who separated in May, are in the middle of a custody battle.
Cosmetics magnate Yves Rocher, 79, died Saturday, Agence France-Presse reports. The cause of death was not disclosed. Rocher started his company in 1959 and turned it into a multinational empire that grossed nearly $3 billion annually.
The company pioneered the use of natural ingredients in makeup, perfumes and shampoo.
